Manager, Buildings and Grounds

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the overall maintenance, cleanliness, and proper management of university facilities.
  • Create and implement a maintenance plan to prevent and predict potential issues.
  • Oversee daily department operations, including staff management, task prioritization, workload distribution, and ensuring high-quality, timely job completion.
  • Prepare and manage the department’s budget while controlling expenses and stock usage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and government guidelines.
  • Manage rental spaces leased to external businesses.
  • Prepare and submit operational reports on time.

 

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building maintenance or facility management.
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance, safety, and security.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
  • Experience in handling contractors and vendors.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Supervise maintenance teams and assign daily tasks.
  • Monitor repairs, renovations, and new projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Good communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
