Students from Nilai UC's School of Hospitality and Tourism storm to the finals of mocktail and cocktail mixing competition.
"Nilai UC rocks!!" was the united cry from students and staff in the aftermath of the preliminary rounds of the Monin Cup. Hosted by Berjaya University College, the Monin Cup is a mocktail and cocktail mixing competition designed to highlight grooming standards, mis en- place or setting, hygienic practices, speed, organization and presentation, taste, name, colour, originality, and interaction with the music.
Nilai University College (Nilai UC) sent a 17-strong team and six made it to the finals for two categories which will be held at the same venue on 23 July 2011, Saturday at 10.00 in the morning. Elbegzaya Temulun, Wong Wee Siong and Low Song Hao, got through to the final rounds of the cocktail making completion. In the mocktail segment, Nilai UC will be represented by Elbegzaya Temulun, Reuben Pillay and Wong Tze Jing.
The heat is on now as Nilai UC students and staff prepare for even stiffer competition and attempt to better their return of one bronze medal from last year's event. "The students have been working extremely hard after class and they deserved to go through. Now, we will have to put that little extra effort to make sure we are among the winners in the final," says Aliya
