Students and staff are coached on road safety tips by team Good Year.
"Don't be a statistic. That's what I tell students and youngsters because more people die on the roads than in wars," stressed Chandy Samuel, Customer Satisfaction Officer with Goodyear Malaysia. Samuel was among the team that kicked off Goodyear's Road Safety Campaign (organised in collaboration with Road Safety Department) which focussed on three areas - road safety, vehicle safety and tyre safety.
Students and staff were given plenty of pointers and tips on how to check the condition of their tyres. These included the twenty sen test which involved putting a coin in the tyre's grooves to see if the coin will stand as this will indicate if the tyre is still usable. Correct ways to check the tyre pressure as well as tips on proper maintenance of the vehicles were imparted by Training Director (Nusajaya) Adenan Mansor.
At the end of the highly informative session there was a quiz as well as an invitation to Nilai UC students to apply to the multinational corporation for job placements.
