Bad weather failed to dampen spirits during Nilai UC's annual Fun Run.
The dark skies hovered menacingly over the Nilai skyline throughout the day threatening to wash out the annual Fun Run. This was one of the most anticipated events on Department of Student Affairs and Sports' calendar and with close to 1,000 participants signing up, it was also set to be the biggest one yet, if the weather didn't ruin it completely.
As it turned out, the weather held till after the flag off with majority of participants turning up undeterred by the threat of a torrential downpour. However, the skies did open up but it did not seem to dampen the spirits as the participants completed the race, wet and full of smiles.
Nilai University College recently installed Deputy President, Dr Chia Chee Fen surprised everyone by winning her category (F – women above 50). "It is important students take part in events like this because a healthy body leads to a healthy mind," chimed the Category F winner.
Despite the poor weather, many student stayed behind for the concert which featured hip hop dances, flash mobs and cultural performances from Nilai UC students. Wet and tired the crowd may have been but the 2011 Fun Run was far from being a washout.
