Lecturer (Physiotherapy) | School of Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials related to physiotherapy subjects such as anatomy, kinesiology, rehabilitation, and therapeutic exercises.
  • Supervise student clinics, ensuring students meet the required clinical competencies.
  • Supervise and mentor students during clinical placements, ensuring they gain practical experience and comply with professional ethical standards.
  • Update and innovate course content, ensuring that teaching materials reflect current trends and technologies in physiotherapy.
  • To participate in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all students and able to provide pastoral care and support to students.
  • To contribute to the school, faculty, working groups or committees as requested by the Head of School/Dean of Faculty.
  • To maintain own continuing professional development.

 

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Physiotherapy or a closely related field.
  • Must be a licensed physiotherapist with valid registration from relevant professional bodies (e.g., Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC).
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience in physiotherapy practice.
  • Previous experience in teaching or research is preferred, though some institutions might offer training for entry-level academic positions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teaching and mentoring students.
