The long-term relationship between Nilai U and FELDA greatly ensures a smooth higher education pathway for the latter's scholars.
Datuk Dr Megat Burhainuddin Megat Abdul Rahman, Nilai U Vice-Chancellor (third row from the right) welcome FELDA representatives during their recent visit to the 105-acre campus.
"The new generation of FELDA scholars are to be elevated onto a new level, one where both book knowledge co-exists with real-life skills," states Amir Hamdan Hj Yusof, Director of FELDA's Department of Higher Education and Development of New Generation, during a recent visit to Nilai University (Nilai U) campus. "This is the main reason we entrust Nilai U with our children and staff because we are not just sending them for an education but preparing them for a better life."
FELDA has been an integral part of Nilai U's fabric as it has sent over 500 scholars to pursue diploma programmes in the fields of allied health sciences, engineering, and hospitality and tourism since 2006. It also has 30% stakeholding in the university.
Amir Hamdan took the opportunity to visit Nilai U's teaching facilities such as purpose-built hangar which houses two aircraft for students from the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programmes to work on. The hangar also houses workshops, audio-visual rooms and lecture halls.
Amir Hamdan Hj Yusof, Director of the Department of Higher Education and Development of New Generation, FELDA (in suits) and his fellow FELDA representatives were enlightened to see their students enjoying the varsity experience as well as complete learning facilities at Nilai U.
We have provided the path for you, so help yourself with this luxury of higher education. You can contribute to the society with all the knowledge and help make Felda a better community - educationally and economically,"
concludes Amir Hamdan.
